It is the beautiful part of Azerbaijan with a rich and ancient history. Sometime in the past this city (Kabbalah) was the capital of Caucasian Albania for 600 years. Up to this present time there are the ruins of the ancient city and the main gate of Caucasian Albania. There is ​​a great number of historical and cultural monuments of different eras in this region. Beautiful nature and well developed infrastructure attract thousands of tourists to Gabala. Here are a few five star complexes, small family hotels, recreation areas and tourist camps. Among the local attractions there are the so called Russian forest, river valleys, the famous Chestnut forest, and numerous picturesque villages. There is Nij village inhabited by Udi, direct descendants of the ancient Caucasian Albanians. The abundance of game in the woods in the season attracts many hunters. In Gabala at the area of 16 hectares is located the largest open air amusement park in Azerbaijan – Gabaland. The town also hosts an annual International Music Festival of classical music, jazz and mugham, which is attended by bands and artists from all around the world. Gabala is one of the most beautiful parts of Azerbaijan with a rich and ancient history. Some time in the past (for 600 years) this city (Kabala) was the capital of Caucasian Albania. Up to the present time there are the ruins of the ancient city and the main gate of Caucasian Albania. Ongoing excavations near the village Chukhur confirm that Gabala from IV – III centuries BC and up to the XVIII century was one of the major cities with developed trade and crafts.
During excavations in the ancient city were found the remains of constructions and the base of the barn presumably for food storage. There were discovered placed in special rows 33 pits of household pitchers half buried in the ground at the area of 42 sq. m.
New residues of industrial character, samples of metal, ceramics, glass, bone are identified, which creates a detailed picture of the state of separate areas of crafts and the level of life and culture of the urban population. Coins, samples of dishes from earthenware, porcelain and celadon found during the excavations report about established intensive links between Gabala in XVI-XVII centuries and cities in the number of countries in the world, including Iran and China. In the north-western part of the city for the first time were discovered valuable findings in the form of the place of the small door in the fortress wall, a door key, a system of multilateral ceramic water supply , glazed bowl (kyasa) made in the XII century. All archaeological findings are stored in Gabala Regional History Museum.
There is a great variety of historical and cultural monuments of different eras in this region: the Albanian church of IV-VIII centuries in Amili village, tombs of Sheikh Badraddin and Sheikh Mansur  of XV century in Hazra village, mosque of XIX century in Bum village and others.
The abundance of attractions, beautiful nature and well developed infrastructure attract thousands of tourists. Three 5 star complexes Gafgaz for accommodation of up to 1000 guests were opened near the city. There are also a small family hotels, several tourist camps and recreation areas where you can comfortably relax in the open air.
Some of the local beauty: the so called Russian forest, river valleys, the famous chestnut forest, numerous picturesque villages Vyandam, Gyamarvan, Engidzha, mountainous village of Laza where since not long time ago tourists can get even riding a quad bike provided by hotel Gafgaz. 
The Nidj village that is about 20 km from Gabala has also gained fame. There live Udins – the direct descendants of ancient Caucasian Albanians.
Flora and fauna of the district are extraordinary rich: in the woods and mountain pastures can be found noble deer and mountain tours, wild boar, hare, bears, wolves, foxes and numerous birds – pheasant, grouse, francolin, etc. The abundance of game in the season attracts many hunters.
In Gabala at the area of 16 hectares is located the largest amusement park under the open sky in Azerbaijan – Gabaland. Visitors are provided with family, kids and extreme kinds of attractions, ice arena, carting, sports fields, XD theatre, convenient parking, great food in restaurants and cafes.
